Corilla Marine is one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of high-tech plastic navigation buoys – a result of many years of dedicated research and development, and a carefully nurtured company culture of expertise, adaptability, professionalism and the best possible customer care.

But that’s not all. Pedigree matters. Corilla Marine is part of Corilla Plastics – a rotational moulding company with a long heritage of manufacturing top quality custom-made plastic products. Corilla has been manufacturing bespoke moulded products for more than forty years and during that time has produced products for some of the world’s best known and best respected companies, including JCB, Caterpillar and Land Rover.

The vast majority of Corilla Marine’s competitors have to contract out much of the manufacturing of their plastic buoys and, by doing so, risk losing fundamental control of the quality of the finished product. Corilla, on the other hand, has all the manufacturing expertise, processes and highly specialised rotational moulding equipment under one roof. At no stage in the design, manufacture or supply of a product does Corilla have to depend on outside resources.

Corilla Plastics has the CAD capabilities to design products to the exact specification of each and every customer, and has the specialist machinery to produce components up to more than three metres in size. As experts in the field of polymers, Corilla can specify the precise grades required to survive specific and often harsh marine environments and can provide the internal foam filling capabilities to meet all buoyancy requirements.

Complicated product assembly, including the installation of vital electrical components – such as battery, solar and wind generated energy sources – is also completed by Corilla. Mould on graphics can also be added in-house to allow any necessary words and numbers to appear on navigation buoys.

Eason Marine Nav Buoys 020.jpgThe Corilla Group was formed following the acquisition of a number of rotational moulding businesses in 2009 and now comprises four divisions – Plastics for specialist rotational moulding; Marine for the design, consultancy and supply of navigation buoys; Construction, for the manufacture and distribution of heavy duty plastics products for the building industry and Pet & Equestrian, for the design and manufacture of toys, feeding and grooming products.

The combination of these divisions brings together a wealth of skills and experience and access to a range of established markets for plastic products. They make Corilla Group one of the world’s leading rotational moulding specialists.

“So when it comes to designing and supplying rotationally moulded products, we know what we’re talking about,” says Peter Eason of Corilla Marine. “All major work is carried out under one roof so that we never lose control of quality. This is exactly why at Corilla we don’t just make things, we make things happen.

“Inside our factory – in the former pit village of Pontycymer, Bridgend, South Wales – our state-of-the-art plastic moulding machinery, together with our cutting edge computer design facilities, are amongst the best and most diverse you’ll find anywhere in the world.”

This is perhaps why Corilla lives up to its carefully conceived mission statement – “To take daily pride in consistently manufacturing quality rotationally moulded products, at a competitive price whilst maintaining the highest standards of customer service…”
